Life with Less Making

I feel bad that it’s been 7 months since I’ve posted, and I’m trying to get space back in my life to post more. I’ve dropped one activity that’s been particularly draining, and I’ve started running again. This will be a less makey and more journalish blog post than usual.

The makerspace I’m a part of, The Gizmo Dojo, is launching a Kickstarter campaign within the next week to raise funds so that we can get an actual space, instead of meeting in a garage and the library. It’s been rather time-consuming, as they’ve tapped me to put together the Kickstarter video, and to make some ballista and catapult kits for Broomfield Days (this weekend). We’ve also had a good deal of work at my real job getting some invitation suites out to clients.

With these things and other activities and events, it’s been difficult for me to find time to work on projects, and my inspiration has flagged. With the upcoming reduced stress and increased mental time, I hope to continue on old projects and start some new ones!

For instance, I plan to pay more attention to my YouTube channel. I’m trying to build subscribers (hint hint), and I’d like to do some tutorials and show-and-tell videos. Let me know on my channel or in the comments below if there’s anything you’d like me to cover.

Because this post has been something of a downer, I’ll leave you with this:

Silly little corgi.

Chill, Joel! Happy Corgis make everybody happy!
